Yesterday i found a deer tick on my 4 month old puppy?

and i cut if off him with his grooming clippers cuz it wasnt coming off with tweezers..The head is still in there and i dont know how to get it out?Does anyone else know a way that wont be too painful to him and that will work.Yesterday i found a deer tick on my 4 month old puppy?
You might want to take him to the vet and get it removed it shouldnt cost much....Other wise he could get very very sick if its in to long and it will grow its body back taking more blood from you dog.....

I hope you get it out good luck !!!Yesterday i found a deer tick on my 4 month old puppy?
If you find you can't get the tick out with tweezers, the best way...bar none...to remove ticks is with a big dab of good ole Vaseline. That's right...totally smother the tick with Vaseline and basically it suffocates, backing itself out in the meantime. Its easy, painless and good for the dogs skin. If I don't recognize the type of tick as being a deer tick (black legged ticks are the main carriers of lime disease in our area of Canada) then I run it over to the vet just to make sure there won't be any problems. During our tick season, we do ';tick checks'; nightly on ourselves and our pets. A tick must be attached for at least 24 hours for the bacteria that causes lime disease to be transferred from the tick.

Hope this helps!
The tick will not grow its body back but I would take it to the vet any way if it was a deer tick. He can remove the head and check for limes disease. You do not want to take a chance on your dog getting that. There is some kind of shot your vet can give him so he won't get sick. Hope this helps.
First of all, next time this happens, trim the fur from around the tick. Then apply clear nail polish to the tick. This will force the tick to come out for air. Then remove it.

Second... now you have to go to the vet to get that head and legs removed. The parts can end up in your pet's blood stream. Don't wait. Do it ASAP.
Generally, if you can't get the tick off in one whole piece, you should take him to the vet and they will be able to.
