How high does a fence have to be to keep deer out of a garden?

I had a fence 8ft tall and wired with livestock fencing around my garden plot and it did the trick year in and year out. Never had one lettuce leaf nibbled on by a deer or any other four legged critter for that matter...

At least 15 ft. Deer can jump quite high. I bet they are enjoying eating your garden....

8 ft is sufficient. Game fencing sold retail usually measures about 7-1/2 ft tall.
10 feet is the minimum but 13 will absolutely lock them out.
if u can get over it they can get over it 2 times easier
I was going to say more than 12.......so 13 sounds good.
