what am i doing wrong?I put my trail camera up on a trail i know deer travel but havent got eny pictures in a week?
There are any number of reasons this could be happening. I don't know what camera you are using but there are things that are common to all cameras. For instance, do you have your camera close enough to the trail for the deer to set it off? Are the batteries good? Is there a sensitivity adjustment that needs to be adjusted to a more sensitive setting? Most of these things will be covered in you owner's manual. Get it out and read over the trouble shooting section.
There's also the possibility that the camera is okay but the deer are avoiding that part of the trail because you have been there and your scent is scaring them off. If they are not walking by your camera, it can't take a picture. If you can see fresh tracks within range of your camera and it is not going off, refer to your owner's manual to see what needs to be done for your particular camera.I put my trail camera up on a trail i know deer travel but havent got eny pictures in a week?
Maby the deer really dont travel that trail!
Did you turn the camera on? Are the batterys good? Did you test it before you left? If you answered yes to all of the above, then move the camera to another trail.
Ditto on the common sense stuff. Check the batteries, triggering and such.
Now put corn or apples out so the deer have reason to hang around for more then 2 seconds. Attractant works.
Most cameras will not catch a deer walking by because the charging and triggering time take longer to get ready the it takes the deer to be-bop on by.
Change the angle of your camera. Instead of looking at a specific section of trail or rub/scrape. Set it up looking down the deer run/trail so it catches them walking directly towards the camera.

depends what kind it is. if you have any pics it might mean that the trigger time is slow
