Is there any medication to prevent an allergic reaction to deer?

I'm curious--do you work with deer in some way, like to hunt, or are they just in your yard a lot?

Anyhow, if you just get a runny/stuffy nose like you would for a pet dander allergy, there are plenty of antihistamines on the market. The earlier ones (such as Chlor-trimeton and Benadryl) tend to cause more dry nose/mouth and drowsiness. Claritin seems to be better tolerated. Avoid the kinds with a decongestant, because those have a lot of side effects (jitters, dry nose/mouth, DEA agents asking if you make meth, heart palpitations).

I don't know if they have allergy desensitization shots for deer dander.

If your problem is severe, definitely see an allergist. I agree with the poster who said hives are a Very Bad Sign.Is there any medication to prevent an allergic reaction to deer?
Absolutely. Take an antihistamine tablet. If you start getting welts, go to a doctor immediately or you could get analaphytic shock and you don't want to go there, I promise you.

Treat it as an emergency. Is there any medication to prevent an allergic reaction to deer?
Start taking LOCAL honey-a teaspoon a day to help your body develop immunities to all the air born irritants around you. If its in the air, it will be helped by taking local honey. Stay away from antihistamines and nose sprays. These will dry you out and cause long term side effects to your organs. You will also be susceptible to sinus infections because the sinuses will dry out and crack allowing infection to set in. Local honey has no side effects, is 100% natural and easy to come by. Like all herbal remedies, it will take some time ti go into effect but you will also notice that you get less cold and flu symptoms in the winter as well.
