In October, is it ok to not check the kids for ticks anymore after being outside?On the east coast, when is deer tick season over?

As mentioned a couple of good frosts should do it.


However, have had overnight frost in NE %26amp; they are still around


I hike w/ the dog in winter %26amp; sometimes one of us will pick up a tick even if there is snow on the ground.


Thinking they hang out in fallen leaves which keeps them from freezing. unless its been hard cold for a while.
