About how many deer are there in North America?

Does anyone know approximately how many deer there are in North America today? I found some info but it was from the mid-80s, so I didn't know if it was still accurate. Thanks.About how many deer are there in North America?
Sources vary. In addition, do you mean just whitetails or mule and blacktail deer as well?

I found estimates of whitetails at:

8-15 million

30 million

About how many deer are there in North America?
In 2001, There were over 30 Million Deer Nationwide.

This high number of deer and Liberal hunting laws result in many fatalities each year and account for more deaths from Deer to Automobile Collisions than all Commercial Airline, Train and Bus Accidents Combined each year.

If you need anything else let me know.

There are way to many to manage a healthy heard. Go grab a shotgun or rifle and help manage your states heard! My educated guess would be 300 million.
