How many Whitetail Deer are there in the State of Pennsylvania ?*?

If you don't know, then guess.*How many Whitetail Deer are there in the State of Pennsylvania ?*?
A lot less than there used to be...thanks to the Pennsylvania Game Commissions policy of allowing the shooting/killing/harvesting of antlerless deer during the regular buck season. I remember the days when a hunter was only allowed to shoot one deer per hunting season...then they had to stop. Now, some counties allow hunters to shoot as many as 7 deer!

As for how many deer? During the 2007 hunting season, hunters in Pennsylvania killed a total of 323,070 deer (antlered and antlerless) during the season, using all methods of hunting (bow, muzzleloader, rifle, shotgun and handgun). This number was 11% lower than the previous year (2006). So, if we assumed that a normal harvest was about 350,000 deer, and hunters possibly shot 50% of the entire deer herd in the state. Then, I would estimate that the total deer herd for Pennsylvanila might be close to 700,000. In fact, I would say that there are large tracts of land that are posted as ';No Hunting'; or are in suburban or urban areas where it is difficult to hunt, where the deer are most abundant. And, deer as not as easy to see and kill as some might think. If we add in these other factors, it is possible that the herd in Pennsylvania might be close to 1 million. How many Whitetail Deer are there in the State of Pennsylvania ?*?
If i go to the trouble to look it up like your other questions......you don't have the courtesy to pick any answer from any person.....why bother.....

Ask a Question.....pick a best answer.......its the gist

of YA and common courtesy.
