in other words do i call a cop if the deer is seriously injured, do i call a hunter?What do you do if you hit a deer with your car?
If the deer runs off, chances are it is injured, but it won't be found easily. If it stays around (ie lays there or falls a short distance away), it is hurt bad and needs to be put out of its' misery. A cop or local humane office usually will do this. If you live in an area where people regulary carry guns, a passer by may be willing to help. If (or once) the deer is dead, it can usually be taken for processing if the meat is not too badly tore up or bruised and either taken for your own use or donated to charity. Depending on local regulations, there may be some forms to sign. Or, if you are like some of the people around here, you just throw into the back of your truck or your trunk and butcher it yourself.What do you do if you hit a deer with your car?
first pray you survive the impact.report it to police if in roadway.then game warden.
Take it home and eat it.
Call the police. You will need a police report for your insurance. If you know a person who likes venison, call him or her. We carry a knife in the car for cleaning the deer when we hit one. They are very good to eat. Hunting season starts this Saturday where I am. Many are getting hit by cars right now. We need to thin them out a bit.

if you are the un lucky one who hits a deer as I have more than once you need to call the police and have then come out and make a report for the insurance company and they will take care of the deer. If it is dead they will call someone to remove it.


They have people who come out to take care of it. So best to call them for the reasons listed.
the police explain what happened and talk camly, dont go crazy! how bad is the deer is it a girl or a boy? that matters

cops, are you crazy, think about it, no need to buy dinner for that night, and many nights to come, also you can get a new leather coat, maybe a deer head tribal mask as well, you can use the bones to make spoons, knives, and other household tools. come on you're gonna have to use your head if you want to survive in the real world.
